COURSE INFORMATION
This course provides all information necessary for the transport operator to apply for a Licence from the WorkSafe Authority. Content includes identification and handling, safety precautions and equipment, and compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
The course is aligned to the Competency Standards contained within National Training Packages.
COURSE CONTENT - THEORY
- Acts and Regulations
- When is a “Licence” required?
- Overview of Class 1 (Explosives) Dangerous Goods.
- Detailed perspective on commonly transported Dangerous Goods.
- Transport and handling criteria in detail, and compatibility mixing.
- Risk Categories of loads.
- Prescribed Safety & Personal Protective Equipment
- Transport Labels and Emergency Information Panels.
- Licensing, crewing, and modifications for vehicles.
- Emergency Procedure Guides and Shipping Documents.
- Emergency Control - General.
PRACTICAL
This involves applying the above theory segments to practical situations
- Packaging, labeling, and documentation session
- Practical assessment is conducted simulating real work conditions
ASSESSMENT
Assessment is against the national Standard and Assessment Instrument, which are accepted in all states and territories. Assessors are fully licensed and accredited and we have third party appeal procedures in place that you might access if you disagree with any assessment outcome. |
