Sea Transport of Dangerous Goods Awareness

As an AMSA Accepted Training Provider, our Dangerous Goods Awareness course meets all of Shipping Australia's requirements for recognition under the AMSA regulations for personnel taking bookings for freight or passengers, and Freight Forwarders in co-ordination roles.

We also offer Dangerous Goods courses for other personnel such as those in function specific roles, where mandatory qualifications are required.

This Dangerous Goods course covers identification and handling, relevant information for all involved personnel, safety precautions and equipment, and compliance with the applicable statutory requirements.

 

COURSE CONTENT - THEORY
  • How the IMO Regulations work.
  • Brief overview of all classes of Dangerous Goods.
  • Item and Risk identification shortcuts (familiarity of hazards).
  • Is it allowed to be shipped??
  • Packaging for Transport and Compatibility.
  • Labelling and Marking requirements.
  • Documentation
  • How to get it to the wharf area - the link with Road Transport.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is against the national Standard, which is accepted in all states and territories. Assessors are fully licensed and accredited and we have third party appeal procedures in place that you might access if you disagree with any assessment outcome.

DURATION

This course has a nominal duration of 4 hours.
