BRIDGE & GANTRY CRANE COURSE

COURSE INFORMATION

This course is designed for those personnel who wish to operate a Bridge or Gantry Crane, with a control cabin or which has more than three powered operations.

The course is competency based, and successful applicants who attain the necessary competence will be eligible to apply for the issue of a National Licence via their state Authority.

COURSE CONTENT- THEORY

•  Acts and Regulations

•  Pre-operational & Operational checks

•  Site and Job Planning

•  Operating, lifting, moving and lowering the load

•  Chasing the Hook, and avoiding Load Swing

•  Basic slinging methods, inspection and maintenance

•  Hand signals

PRACTICAL EXERCISES

•  Pre operational & Operational checks

•  Task Planning and Risk control

•  Sling inspection

•  Slinging methods and operating techniques

•  Shut down

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is against the national Standard and Assessment Instrument, which are common in all states and territories. Assessors are fully licensed and accredited and we have third party appeal procedures in place that you might access if you disagree with any assessment outcome.
