COURSE INFORMATION

This course meets all of Shipping Australia's requirements for recognition of the participant under the AMSA regulations. It covers identification and handling, relevant information for all involved personnel, safety precautions and equipment, and compliance with the applicable statutory requirements.

The course is aligned to the Competency Standards contained within National Training Packages.

COURSE CONTENT - THEORY

• How the IMO Regulations work.
• Brief overview of all classes of Dangerous Goods.
• Item and Risk identification shortcuts (familiarity of hazards).
• Is it allowed to be shipped??
• Packaging for Transport and Compatibility.
• Labelling and Marking requirements.
• Documentation - in detail. Completion of Maritime Order 41A declaration.
• How to get it to the wharf area - the link with Road Transport.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is against the national Standard and Assessment Instrument, which are accepted in all states and territories. Assessors are fully licensed and accredited and we have third party appeal procedures in place that you might access if you disagree with any assessment outcome.
