DANGEROUS GOODS REGULATIONS - 1st January 2010

From 1st January 2010 there will be new regulations affecting the handling of Dangerous Goods for Air, Road and Sea transport. This also impacts on the Storage and Handling of Dangerous Goods.
Sea Freight - IMDG Code
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority will require personnel carrying
out specific functions related to Dangerous Goods to undertake "AMSA Accepted" training for those
functions. Personnel in related general roles may require Dangerous Goods Awareness training.
AITAC Pty Ltd is an AMSA Accepted provider of IMDG Code training courses.
Road Freight - ADG7
All personnel involved in handling Dangerous Goods and their supervisors will require training and instruction.
Some drivers will be required to hold a Dangerous Goods Driver Licence under the Australian Dangerous Goods Code version 7.
To get the Licence, a driver must attend an "Approved Course".
The ADG7
Licence course is mandated by the regulatory authorities as a 2 day
course.
AITAC Pty Ltd is an Approved provider of the ADG7 Licence course.
Air Freight - IATA Regs
Consignors / Shippers of Dangerous Goods by Air, and personnel
who Accept or Check-In the goods must attend an "Approved Course" to
hold Civil Air Safety Authority accreditation, or engage a contractor
who is accredited.
Personnel in related general roles may require Dangerous Goods Awareness training.
AITAC Pty Ltd is a CASA Approved provider for Acceptance, Shipper and Awareness courses.
